3. Who Is Orson Randall?
As well as checking in on Colleen, the time jump forward by three moths also sees how Danny and Ward are doing in Asia. In a Japanese bar, Ward is trying to get information from a black market dealer about a man named Orson Randall, who is responsible for sending the Iron Fist corpse to Davos.
So who is this Orson Randall? Comic fans will know the character as Danny's immediate predecessor as the Iron Fist, operating during the early half of the 20th century. Disillusioned with what he was fighting for, Orson left K'un-Lun and retired for hero work. In the present day, he returns to act as Danny's mentor in the ways of the immortal Iron Fist.
As Colleen's newfound power shows, the Netflix series does what it likes with the comics mythology so who knows how it will handle Orson. If he's a former Iron FIst, why would he send Davos a corpse of one of his forebears so the villaiin could desecrate everything the Iron Fist stands for?
