7. David Tennant's Bad Guy Is Super Creepy
Perhaps the most exciting bit of casting for Jessica Jones so far is the prospect of the Tenth Doctor as the bad guy. Following in the vein of Daredevil saving the biggest name for the villain role (with Full Metal Jacket's Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk), David Tennat will star as the main antagonist in the second Netflix series. And he's a doozy. Despite an impressive power set, the Purple Man was mostly a C-list villain who appeared fitfully in issues of Daredevil since the sixties. When Brian Michael Bendis got his hands on him in Alias, however, Zebediah Killgrave became a lot more sinister, using his mind control powers for a purpose far more depraved than robbing banks. It's revealed in Alias that the Purple Man used his powers on Jessica during her Jewel days, easily subduing her during a fight and then kidnapping her, psychologically torturing her for months and then siccing on her Daredevil and Scarlet Witch. It's this event that makes Jessica retire from being a superhero then Kilgrave shows up again...
