Marvel's Netflix Series: 10 Things You Need To Know
2. It's All Part Of The Marvel Cinematic Universe
The connective tissue between Agents Of SHIELD, Agent Carter and the Marvel movies so far has been pretty obvious. Agent Coulson originally appeared in Iron Man, and played a big role in the Avengers; SHIELD frequently dealt with the fallout from the movies, from Thor: The Dark World to Captain America: The Winter Soldier; Agent Carter, meanwhile, is a character introduced in the first Cap film. All of the Netflix heroes, meanwhile, appear to be more separate from the Avengers and Guardians Of The Galaxy of that world. It's still going to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the connection might not be quite so obvious, besides because it'd be kind of hard not to, given they're all set in the city inevitable references to the Battle Of New York. Whether any of the characters will make appearances in later Marvel movies is hard to predict, too. Again, these are more street level heroes than the ones who deal with world-threatening villains. Vincent D'Onofrio stated that after the "series stuff with Netflix", Marvel has "a bigger plan to branch out", but it remains to be seen how that will actually work.
