Deborah Ann Woll is such a fantastic choice for Karen, so it's no surprise that her presence in the Punisher gives further cause for excitement.

The moments shared between Page and Castle in Daredevil Season 2 made for some of the show's most heartfelt moments; as Woll herself explained to Entertainment Weekly:

"Frank has a soft spot in Karen’s heart, and certainly with the dark history that Karen has, there are very few people she can share her authentic self with. Frank is someone who she could potentially fully open up to."

Between all the upbeat moments shared between Page, Foggy and Matt in Daredevil, it can be easy to forget the character's tragic backstory. She was framed for a murder, to begin with, and was then forced to kill Wilson Fisk's right hand man, Wesley, in an act of self defence. Add to that the fact that there's clearly a darker history to Karen from before the events of Daredevil, and it's clear that she's got plenty of skeletons in her closet.

It's a closet that will, no doubt, be fully opened in Season 3 of Daredevil. More importantly however, it'll be interesting to see the way in which Karen treats Frank now that Matt is presumed dead to the world. She wasn't holding up at all in the closing moments of The Defenders, and with Castle returning to wage his one man war on crime, it'll be interesting to see how the loss of Daredevil factors into the conversation.
