The upcoming show will already have one connection to Keanu Reeves' seminal action series in that Tyler Bates will compose its score, but other, on the screen elements scream Wick too.
Frank Castle is a smooth operator, especially when it comes to firearms. The trailer showed him shooting a lot of them in what looks to be in the typical Netflix hallway style. There are pistols, shotguns, LMGs and assault rifles all getting used, but the way in which Castle uses them certainly feels reminiscent of WIck's free flowing style.
And hey, if that is the case - and we're getting more gun-fu in the MCU - then that's more than okay. There's a reason why those films work in the way they do, and - given how the quality of the Defenders' action sequences has varied massively in recent years - it's a really important element to nail. Going off the trailer it least, it looks like that element - more than others - is well and truly catered for.
