MCU: Every Disney+ Series Finale Ranked Worst To Best (So Far)
6. One World. One People - The Falcon & The Winter Soldier
It is said that a superhero movie, or in this case TV show, can only be as good as its villain. This immediately handcuffed The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, as Karli Morgenthau was one of the weakest antagonists Marvel have put on screen in a few years. It was hard to care about her cause, and by extension the final battle.
On the other hand however, this was a story in which the villain didn’t really matter, whether that was for better or for worse. This was about Sam Wilson, the history of the shield, and taking the positive first steps forward as the new Captain America.
When Sam first appeared in the finale, it was like he had been pulled straight off the pages of a comic book. While the look of Cap isn’t important, as was kind of the message of the whole show, it made a lot of fans happy, and he at least backed it with the qualities Cap needs. He did more for Karli’s cause with one conversation than she did all season.
Unfortunately, there hadn’t been a better conflict built around Sam for the finale to really stand out, but it was still a solid entry in a solid series.
