MCU: Every Netflix Marvel Season Ranked Worst To Best
3. Jessica Jones: Season 1
Even though several years have passed and all these other seasons of shows have released in its wake, the first season of Jessica Jones remains one of the best things to come out of the Netflix/Marvel partnership. It wasn't an easy task having to follow up the first season of Daredevil in 2015, and yet it did so effortlessly with great, focused storytelling that explored some pretty dark and mature places.
Krysten Ritter really nailed the role, anchoring the series with her sarcastic, perpetually annoyed performance, and the fact Jessica was joined by characters like Luke Cage and Trish Walker were just icing on the cake. And then, of course, there was David Tennant's Kilgrave, one of the absolute best villains the MCU has had in its historic, ever-expanding run, with Tennant milking every second he's on screen for what it's worth, making the character remorselessly terrifying one second and sickeningly charming the next.
Save for a few minor missteps - like the inclusion of the absolutely awful Robyn, who mercifully never returned after season one - the show clicked along swimmingly, armed with a great pace, an ever-increasing sense of tension, satisfying mysteries and revelations, and an overall visual style that served to differentiate it from Daredevil.
Both in terms of the Netflix corner of the MCU and the MCU as a whole, it's one of the best single projects to come out of the franchise, and demonstrated that there was room for all sorts of unique stories to be told within this universe.
