MCU: Ranking Every Netflix Marvel Season Worst To Best
4. The Punisher Season 1
Following on from his incredible introduction in Daredevil, a solo series for Frank Castle was quickly commissioned, and for the most part it didn't disappoint.
Frank Castle, not The Punisher, is the key there, because Season 1 is much more about the man behind the moniker, taking a deep dive into his psyche, and what motivates him to be the seemingly ruthless killer he is. Some of it is stuff we've seen played out before - Daredevil touched on the character's backstory too - but Bernthal's bristling intensity makes it work, as does his chemistry with Ebon Moss-Bachrach's Micro.
Some of the conspiracy plot doesn't work though, while some of its messaging is very muddled, and you could really cut this down to a mini-series of around 6-8 episodes and have something really special, because once it gets going - with the villains properly established, and Castle let loose - it is nothing short of incredible; a blistering, violent, gunshot of a show.
