Recently she's appeared far more regularly, but fans still didn't know her all that well. Future Ted's of course talked about her hobbies and interests, but he's admittedly a biased and somewhat unreliable narrator so audiences have only his word and her few appearances to go on. 'How Your Mother Met Me' delved deep into who she was and what has led her to Ted. What is surprising about her journey is how it is juxtaposed against Ted's own. Ted has been a hopeless romantic constantly in search of 'the one' since the series began. The Mother, however, is convinced she already met her ideal man in Max and believes she won't be able to recreate that love with anyone else. Their beliefs throughout the series have been at such polar opposites it is very interesting thematically. One has to wonder what it is about Ted that not only makes her fall for him, but to eventually say yes to his proposal when she said no to Louis'. Throughout the series fans have waited for the moment where Ted meets her, but, thanks now to this episode's explanation of her back story and character, audiences can't wait until the moment The Mother meets Ted and finds her happiness. Only eight more episodes remain until How I Met Your Mother ends and the journeys Ted and The Mother have been on are complete. Let's hope it has all been worthwhile.
