9. Why Ted's Hand Is Bandaged When He Meets The Mother
When Season 8 premiered, we saw Ted sitting at the bus station with his hand wrapped up and bloody. This has apparently happened after the wedding, and it's the moment when Ted meets the woman he eventually marries. So...why is his hand messed up? Earlier in the show, Ted tells his kids he's only ever been in one fight, and that was his fight with Doug at MacLaren's back in Season 4. My first guess was that Ted got into some kind of disagreement with Barney over Robin, and they've been building that conflict up as being the climax of this season-long wedding. But if Ted's only been in one fight, then something else must be about to happen. What could that be? So far in Season 9, we've seen Ted romancing Cassie, a girl at the wedding who has been emotionally unstable. It's possible that Ted meets the mother before the incident at the bus station and Cassie gets between them somehow. Another possibility is that Ted tries to sever ties with Cassie, which is met with violence somehow. We'll just have to wait and see!
