Although he's the protagonist of the show, that hasn't stopped Elliot from doing some truly horrific things to fulfill his plans. If you asked him, it's for the greater good of the world. However, what he did to his potential love interest, Olivia, was not the sort of move that a hero or even an anti-hero would consider.

As an employee of Cyprus National Bank, Olivia had link to members of the Deus Group, the group of investment bankers who fund The Dark Army. While Oliva wasn't able to do it herself, Elliot demanded that she contact her work colleague who had higher classification. Although she was against it, Elliot had already come up with a devious plan to make sure she played along.

A recovering drug addict, Olivia needed to remain sober if she had any hope of gaining custody of her son. However, in a shocking and desperate move, Elliot spikes her drink with OxyContin and threatens to expose her. This completely breaks Olivia, who attempts to kill herself by slitting her wrists in her bathroom.

Although Elliot is able to save her life, she still brandishes him as a monster for what she did to him and - regardless of how you feel about Elliot - it's truly hard to disagree with her.
