Mulder And Scully Get Old In New X-Files Footage

Also: A Flight Of The Conchords actor has been cast in the upcoming miniseries!

€œI'm certain that the truth...is in there.€ How embarrassing for David Duchovny. It's been so long since he played FBI Agent Fox Mulder, surely his most famous and iconic character (come at us, Californication fans) (fan), that he can't even remember his catchphrase! Hopefully this new X-Files footage they released will be fixed up in post very soon. Before then you might as well watch it as is, because OH MAN NEW X-FILES FOOTAGE. The news that Fox were going to be resurrecting the show for a six episode mini-series in 2016 was like a revelation teased out of the Cigarette Smoking Man himself. It was difficult to believe it was really happening. But we want to believe. And now, here's proof that it is! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoIRNja8pMc The trailer for an upcoming X-Files marathon on Fox includes a glimpse of new footage at Duchovny and Gillian Anderson returning to the roles of Mulder and Scully, looking older and wiser (and blonder in the latter's case). It's just a brief appearance by the pair, shining flash-lights and looking surprised, but that is more than enough to get the X-Files faithful pumped. Along with all that excitement, the show is continuing to cast comedic actors in supporting roles: Community's Joel McHale's already on board as a Bill O'Reilly figure, and now apparently Rhys Darby (Murray from Flight Of The Conchords) is also present. Hopefully in the episode called €œMulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster€. He's good at all that lupine stuff. Possibly hoping to mimic that complete Simpsons marathon (which they devoted a whole channel to), Fox are counting down the days to the new X-Files series by airing the entire original series in binge-watch-baiting order. One episode per day. Probably skipping over that film from 2008 where Billy Connolly played a psychic paedophile. So that's 201 days until new episodes of The X-Files, beginning January 24, 2016.
