2. The Promising Start

Netflix has already given us a glimpse at their approach to Cowboy Bebop in their almost shot-for-shot remake of the iconic opening credits, and colour us impressed. It looks fun, captures the show's spirit well, and adds enough to make it feel like its own thing. It's tough to be disappointed.

Now, of course, that's not a guarantee the show will do well, as modern viewers have often been tricked by strong trailers and promotional shoots only to end up disappointed in the end. However, this footage at least promises that the original series is being kept in mind and that the concept can work.

From what we've seen thus far, the showrunners have the intention to take what already exists and expand on it. They're taking iconic aspects of the show, paying homage to them, and chucking in some fresh images to keep it moving forward.

That is exactly the kind of approach they need to take, so it's undoubtedly off to a promising start.
