It's easy to get bogged down in negativity when you learn something you love is being reimagined. Viewers are so used to their favourite properties being milked for cash or retroactively ruined, so there is a lot on the line here. However, even in the worst-case scenario, this live-action show will bring some attention back to Cowboy Bebop 1998, which is good news.

When it comes to new fans, there are two promising directions they could go in. Either the Netflix version sucks, and they choose to watch the original to see what all the fuss was about, or the latest version kicks butt, and they want more, so decide to seek out the source material. In both scenarios, Cowboy Bebop 1998 gets more viewership, and nobody can complain about that.

There's also the slight hope that Netflix might choose to bring the original series to their platform if the show finds success. Obviously, that will increase the number of eyes on it, bringing old fans back and creating a whole new set of Bebop fanatics.
