For every The Witcher, there's about six Death Notes.

Netflix is a juggernaut in the entertainment industry, not only because they were the service to start the streaming wars but also because they are a significant producer when it comes to content. Netflix original shows and movies are a category in their own right, but whenever it comes to bringing existing material to life, they often miss the mark.

You need only look at their atrocious 2017 Death Note adaptation to see that they're not the best suited to anime adaptations. This flick proved that the company didn't understand the source material at all, and while it's easy to say they've learned their lesson, this is only one example in a string of poor adaptations.

Fullmetal Alchemist, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Iron Fist, Ratched; even at their best, Netflix has still proven that they aren't adept when it comes to reimagining source material. This has led fans to start quivering in their boots at the thought of Bebop becoming yet another victim in their long line of botched projects.
