13. Sucker Of Souls

Love Death And Robots
Netflix

Unleashed by an archaeological dig, a bloodthirsty demon battles a team of mercenaries armed with…cats?

Sucker of Souls is reminiscent of good old-fashioned action flicks. It’s as corny as anything Stallone or Schwarzenegger would put their name by and the dialogue is just as cheesy, even if quite funny from time to time.

The 2D animation feels hand painted and truly refreshing. There’re parts that are scary, parts that are badass, and parts that are hilarious, but the short feels just a bit too quick to feel whole. The main character is one that is so pleasurable to be around as he looks at the world as his punching bag and takes even the stickiest of situations as a time to quip.

Much more fantasy and horror than sci-fi like most of the others, Sucker of Souls doesn’t take any risks but plays pretty great for some casual viewing.

If you talk in a theatre I'm in, be prepared to get some pretty passive aggressive stares.
