Netflix's YOU: Every Main Character Ranked From Worst To Best
8. Ethan Russell
A trusty right hand man who probably should have been a bit more aware of what was going on in the shop he was working in every single day, Ethan is a rare good character in the show that audiences can root for. And, unlike most other characters in the show, there aren't any sinister skeletons in the closet with him either.
Blessed with a big heart, Ethan begins as just a little sprinkling of comic relief in the show, constantly trying to talk to Joe at the worst times and constantly being dismissed by the bookstore manager, who is usually in the process of trying to clean up a crime scene or stalk someone on social media. Despite this, he's fiercely loyal to Joe and even refuses to disclose any information to Guinevere Beck about his mysterious relationship with Candace when asked.
There is more charm than meets the eye with Ethan however, and he does end up having a conquest of his own for audiences to root for when he meets Blythe, one of Beck's fellow students and a visitor at the bookstore.
As far as audiences know, Ethan Russell is still working at the bookstore having moved in Blythe at the end of season one.
