After 122 episodes over ten seasons, Shameless is returning for its eleventh and final season this December as we bid a fond farewell to the Gallaghers and friends.

Ever since it first graced our screens in 2011, Shameless has been known for its gritty, real-world scenarios, as opposed to portraying the poor, dysfunctional Gallagher household as a comedy act. Having the family be as relatable as they have been over the past nine years helped shape Shameless into one of the greatest shows of its kind.

The departure of Emmy Rossum's portrayal of Fiona at the end of the ninth season took a huge chunk out of the show, as she had forever been the focal point of the series. Despite that, the show managed to get itself through season ten reasonably well, with the eleventh series set to be no different. Of course, the show will never be able to reach the heights it once had without its matriarch, however, the remaining cast remains a strong ensemble of characters.
