8. John Losing Control
Poor John. Our resident prison cutie has not had an easy time of it in Litchfield. The path to true love is never smooth, but kid cant catch a break. After an initially adorable romance with Daya she ends up pregnant - not ideal in a womans prison. Mendez has no qualms about sleeping with inmates, so the inmates hatch a plan to blame him so that John doesn't get sacked for what is actually gross misconduct. Though this may have saved his career, between knowing his girlfriend had sex with his colleague and having said colleague break down in front of him because hes now in love with her, Johns had a rough ride. The teaser suggests that season 2 will bring us a whole new side to him. The soft-spoken ex-soldier is shown screaming at Taystee, Are you scared? You f*cking should be! which is a far cry from how gentle he often is with the inmates. We see him in the dining hall slamming his hand on the table, and little John does not look happy. Whether or not this is a plot to avoid arousing suspicion about his relationship with the inmates or whether its a genuine aggression is unclear, but what we can definitely hope is that John will be filled out further next season.
