Ozark: 10 Most Disturbing Moments
6. Jonah Pulls A Gun On Helen
Jonah is a tricky character to nail down - as smart as his father and as socially conscious as his mother, but at times Jonah's behaviour has skewed into erratic and downright creepy. Between dissecting wolves to lure vultures (for studying), and using a drone to peep on Erin Pierce, viewers might be witnessing a monster in the making.
Couple this theory with Jonah's kinship with firearms, and what viewers got in the season three finale was an impassioned Jonah bringing a shotgun to Helen Pierce' house after learning about Ben's death.
We've seen Jonah pull a gun on Cartel members before, but in the first season Jonah was afraid and unsure of himself. In season three, pointing a gun at Helen and inches away from pulling the trigger, there's a nervous uncertainty that Jonah might actually blast Helen away.
Guns are pulled on characters in Ozark all the time, and some have even been fired. But in the context of the scene in which a (often) confident antagonist has their hands in the air, and is at the mercy of a teenager with a gun, there's a real sense of unease to the scene that makes it all the more tense to watch.
