Ozark: 10 Most Disturbing Moments

5. Darlene Snell Romances Wyatt Langmore

If 'disturbing' isn't the word to use, then viewers were certainly uneasy at the escalation of Darlene and Wyatt's "friendship".

Far be it from me to poke and shame true love, but there was something eerie about the relationship between Darlene and Wyatt in season three. Knowing what we do about Darlene's want for a child (especially to replace Ash, whom she loved dearly), there was something Oedipal about the way these two consummated their relationship.

The two characters in question weren't the most shipped pairing back in season one, and the surprise that their interactions with one another ramped up in season three to Wyatt being effectively groomed by Darlene to be his live-in lover and nanny to her "son".

Of course, the most juvenile response is to gag at the massive age difference of these two star-crossed lovers, but drill a little deeper and what you'll realise is this the story of a calculated, cold-blooded and blatantly unhinged woman seducing a young man for (clearly) nefarious purposes. The fact that poor, young Wyatt is falling head over heels for Darlene makes it a tragic circumstance and it certainly isn't going to end well in the fourth and final season.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
