Ozark: 10 Most Disturbing Moments

3. Frank Jr. Attacks Ruth

If there is one bit of criticism for season three, it would be the introduction of Frank Cosgrove Jr. While the acting was great, and Frank Jr. helped flesh out more of the KC mob, the character itself was an irritating story device used to create unrealistic tension. As the son of a mob boss, movie rules dictate that he will be a spoilt man-child who doesn't like being kicked in the groin and thrown off a boat by a woman half his weight and size.

When Ruth does exactly that, we hope their tension can be put to bed and the show can focus on better plots. But after an ambush by rival Cartel members takes out a number of Kansas City mob goons, Frank Jr. puts on his 'Straw Man' hat and immediately points the finger at Ruth.

What follows is a scene that is downright upsetting, when Ruth is assaulted by Frank Jr. and kicked until the screen fades black. Ruth has proven to be tough as nails, but when something like this comes at the hands of someone as hateful as Frank Jr, it's a step over the edge for audiences. Made all the more sickening is Ruth's wails of pain, and we see drops of blood spill onto the boardwalk outside the Missouri Belle.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
