Ozark: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best

There has never been a more accurately named character than Agent Petty, a member of the FBI who for two seasons terrorised the Byrdes and the other residents of the Ozarks. Petty felt like an irritation more than anything else as he seemed to insert himself into more interesting situations that could've done without him.

His vindictive spite against Marty feels moderately unearned and wholly unbecoming of a member of the FBI. Petty was designed to be a foil for Marty that could allow them to bounce off each other as rivals but, they never really got to that level as other more developed characters took centre stage.

Petty's sexual manipulation of Russ felt specifically immoral and his torment of the other characters on the show lacked an emotional through line that could've improved his impact. Inevitably, his death was a relief as the show could move onto more captivating and interesting characters.
