Ozark: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best
13. Charlotte Byrde
The eldest of the Byrde children, Charlotte proved difficult from the outset as she threw several tantrums about having her life uprooted and moving to the Ozarks. When she later found out about her parents' illegal dealings, she took the audacious move of hiring a lawyer in an attempt to emancipate from her family.
Her anger and resentment is not a question of realism but it doesn't make it any more fun to watch. Charlotte becomes a consistent annoyance and drag through the first two seasons as she attempts to undercut her parents at every turn. Her own personal drama is equally as uninteresting and feels like it's taking valuable time away from better characters.
Luckily, Charlotte has started to accept her parents and has even moved into helping her mother run things. As rushed as it might feel to move her into this position, it's a strong improvement on what she was doing before.
