Ozark Season 4: 12 Questions That Must Be Answered
10. What Is The FBI's Next Move Against The Byrdes?
One slight criticism with Ozark is that the FBI story beats tend to be the weakest. Roy Petty was a very interesting character, but his story ended last season and unfortunately Trevor Evans and newcomer Maya Miller were left to carry on the story thread.
In the third season, Maya attempts to turn Marty to work for the FBI (and he tries a reversal on her) and make him a recurring asset for them- a bookkeeping Frank Abagnale if you will.
With the deal fallen apart, and Trevor losing is patience with the Byrdes, the FBI have exhausted most of their options and if their thread continues they'll have to try something new for next season.
At this point in the series, Marty has all but told the FBI that he is in bed with the Cartel and while he is only one step ahead, Trevor and Maya have to have one more ace up their sleeve if they want to catch him red handed?
Maya may have been naive at times, but she was virtuous and saw through Marty's lies. And if she can learn to work with the tenacious Trevor, together they just might be able to catch Marty for good.
