9. Is Erin Pierce A Loose Thread?
Season three fleshed out the cold and calculating Helen Pierce enough for us to believe she was going to be a big player in the years to come. How wrong we were.
One interesting new character the show did was to introduce us to her teenage daughter Erin. While Erin didn't do much in service towards the overall plot; learning what her mother actually did for a living did serve as the catalyst that inevitably led to Ben's death and the rift between Ruth and the Byrdes.
As far as we know, Erin is still alive and has returned to her father and brother in Chicago. After witnessing the disgust and horror she had when she found out her mother was a lawyer for the Cartel, we can't imagine she would keep that information quiet for long.
This raises two possibilities; either Erin is about to be targeted by the Navarro Cartel for knowing more than she should, or she could serve as an information well for the FBI. Whatever the case may be, Ben's brief tirade will carry consequences with it into the next season.
And in true Ozark fashion, innocent people are likely to get hurt.
