1. Amy Poehler
Former SNL star, Amy Poehler won a Golden Globe in 2014 for her leading performance as the well meaning Leslie Knope. The character and performance both received universal acclaim from critics and audiences alike throughout the series’ run.
In 2015, Poehler provided the voice of Joy in Pixar’s Inside Out. In addition, Poehler was also credited for writing some of the character’s dialogue. In 2017, she starred opposite Will Ferrell in The House, a comedy centred on a married couple who set up an underground casino. The film released to mostly poor reviews and failed to make its budget back at the box office.
Poehler made her directorial debut in 2019 for Netflix with the comedy, Wine Country, in which she also starred. The film was met with average to good reviews. She is currently working on the film adaptation of Moxie, a novel by Jennifer Mathieu.
She is also executive producer of the Adult Swim series, Three Busy Debras. She resumed voice acting for the new animated series Duncanville, voicing the titular character and working as a co-creator of the series also. For her work on the Netflix comedy-drama, Russian Doll, Poehler received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
