Peaky Blinders: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best (So Far)

4. Season Four

Peaky Blinders
BBC

The most action heavy season of the show sadly falls into a degree of repetition by the end. Perhaps a direct response to the criticisms of the overcomplicated third season, Season Four is the most simplified outing for Peaky Blinders and revolves almost exclusively around Luca Changretta's vendetta against the Shelby family.

Changretta is played by Adrien Brody who is doing his best Marlon Brando impersonation that ranges from intimidating to comedic. As a series of set pieces unfold between the Italian Mob and the Peaky Blinders, the violence begins to lose its impact and the conflict becomes stale.

Keeping with the tradition mentioned in the previous entry, John is promptly killed off in episode one and the outpouring of grief from Arthur and Esme is particularly effective.

Michael begins his clearest signs of transitioning from an ally to an obstacle for Tommy as he continues one of the most well developed arcs on the show.

The last episode, which features one of many fake out deaths for Arthur, showcases a thrilling bait and switch that takes down Changretta once and for all. It also features a notable fake out death for Alfie Solomons.
