Peaky Blinders: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best (So Far)
3. Season Five
It's very hard to judge Season Five fairly as it is essentially part one of a two season storyline, with part two not yet being released. With Tommy now an MP, the stakes are raised as he begins a dangerous faux alliance with the fascist Oswald Mosely, played with a sadistic glee by Sam Claflin.
Mosely makes for a great villain as his powerful connections mean he is a difficult man to outmanoeuvre. As Tommy gets more tangled in his dangerous game with Moesly, a feeling of dread is constantly present whenever he is on screen.
Michael, and his new wife Gina, make an open and public attempt to take the organisation from Tommy setting up the most interesting and personal conflict of the final season. Hopefully Michael will be a massive focus in Season Six as the groundwork for this feud has been laid over several years.
There's another Arthur fake out death which is a bit unnecessary and as much as we all love Alfie Solomons, he was better off dead. But aside from those nagging annoyances, Season Five is a strong season of television.
As with any two part story, the first part can either be enhanced or retrospectively damaged depending on the success of its conclusory part. As practically no narratives are resolved in Season Five, we wait for Season Six to see if they worth the attention to begin with.
