1. Elias Makes A Comeback
Elias has been sitting on the sidelines for a long time now. He was actively in hiding for much of the season on the advice of Carter, only surfacing when she needed help with a case. He finally made a public appearance to the crime world in 'Endgame', the first part of this Person of Interest trilogy. It was a great surprise to see him turn up at the end of the episode and hear his wish to kill Simmons' out of a debt to Carter. It added more depth to someone who has long been Person of Interest's best antagonist and further illustrated he doesn't hold personal grudges as they don't benefit his business. With HR dismantled, the Russian mob in pieces and Carter no longer around to keep him in check, Elias could be looking to making a proper return to the criminal underworld. Perhaps the biggest repercussion of all is the space Carter left behind in the wake of all her arrests and what will need to fill it. Elias is in a prime position to not only take back what is his, but control everything in disarray at the moment. The fact Carter never told Reese or Finch she had Elias in her pocket may also come back to haunt them as Elias now holds the element of surprise, a very significant advantage to have over the POI team.
