3. Cassidy's Defiance

Cassidy and Jesse still aren't really on speaking terms after the preacher learned that his best buddy had slept with Tulip several months ago. However, upon learning that Cass was shot, Jesse decides to try and make amends, both for his own sake and the vampire's. There's a lovely little moment between the two men, where Jesse finally admits that Cassidy is his best friend - something that Cassidy take's advantage of by having the preacher repeat it several times.

Cassidy doesn't buy it though, believing that Jesse is simply trying to get rid of him so that he can have to Tulip all to himself. The irony here is that, while Jesse has proven to be an extremely selfish person, he is actually looking out for his friend here. But given their colourful history, it's understandable why Cassidy doesn't believe him. The conflict between the two characters has been a highlight this season.
