2. God's Reveal

After several seasons of trying to find out what God looks like, we finally got a glimpse underneath that creepy dog outfit in Gonna Hurt. Spoiler alert - God looks just like Fake God, which was apparently God's idea. In any other show, this would've been a cop out, but for Preacher, this is exactly the way the storyline should've panned out. It couldn't have been a more Preacher-esque reveal if it tried.

But what's interesting is that God isn't at all what we expected. The all-seeing leader promises Tulip that he's a just God, but when the young woman questions his motives for leaving Heaven, he sends her flying into her car. Not very holy, is it? According to him, he's preparing a pass/fail type of test for humanity, and if this scene is anything to go by, then Tulip had better watch her back, because she could be deemed a failure.

Another great plot twist for the show.
