Preacher Season 2: 5 Ups And 1 Down From 'Gonna Hurt'
Downs...
1. Cassidy's Plan For Tulip
Unrequited love is a tough thing to deal with, and Cassidy knows this better than anyone having struggled with his feelings for Tulip for quite some time now. His plan, however, is to use Marie L'Angelle's love potion on the young woman, to make her fall in love with him. While it's easy to see where the desire to use the potion comes from, this just seems like an out of character thing for Cassidy to do. Perhaps it could be argued that his argument with Jesse is what spurs him on to do this, but even then it still feels a little contrived.
Jesse and Cassidy are already at each other's throats - more so than they've ever been before - so if this plot thread has been orchestrated to annihilate their friendship then it's pretty pointless. Moreover, Cassidy loves Tulip, so even with his selfish desires, it's not plausible that he would do this to her. Why? Because between him and Jesse, Cassidy has always been the one to put other people's needs and desires about his own.
