Preacher Season 3: 3 Ups & 1 Down From 'The Tom/Brady'
Downs
1. The Glaring Plot Hole
Preacher has given us some pretty great storylines over the years, but they would be much more enthralling if the writers did a better job at covering up the glaring plot holes - plot holes that were, once again, rife in this episode. As discussed earlier in this article, the alliance between Marie and Satan managed to cover up some of the plot conveniences nicely, as this friendship proves that Marie is more than just a battle-axe. She's supernaturally gifted, and working with the most evil of people - a revelation that finally legitimises her as a threat.
However, the downside of this legitimisation is that it has opened up another can of conveniences. If Satan and Marie are in contact with one another, and the devilish demon can pop up from hell to visit the old biddy whenever he likes, then why hasn't he himself tracked down Eugene and Hitler? Moreover, if he now wants Tulip, then why didn't he just hang around Marie's home until Tulip returned, instead of sending Sydney off on a wild goose chase to locate her in Osaka? Bit confusing, isn't it?
