Ranking 10 Worst Arrowverse Costumes
6. Indigo
Look, it should be said that it's incredibly hard for TV shows to pull off techno-organic creatures and androids when they're using real actors to play them, so Supergirl's costume designers were always going to be fighting an uphill battle with this one.
Indigo - also known as Brainiac-8 - showed up in the show's first season, and Laura Vandervoort did a fantastic job bringing the vindictive gynoid to life. That said, the costume didn't do her much justice.
The blue metallic face-paint was actually pretty sweet and the three red glowing dots on her forehead at least attempted to reinforce that she wasn't of-this-world. However, the costume itself - a long-blue Star Trek-like uniform - just felt like a cheap cop-out in order to avoid covering anymore of Vandervoort's skin in blue paint. And while that's understandable, surely there were better methods of pulling it off than this.
It's pretty clear that the blue uniform is not skin, so are we expected to believe it is? And furthermore, all that blue mixed with the bright orange hair ends up reducing the character to little more than a Mystique lookalike - which is a shame when she was actually so much more.
