23. The Pointy End (Season 1, Episode 8)
After Ned Starks betrayal by Littlefinger in the previous episode, this episode deals with the events leading up to his eventual execution in Baelor, although it looks like Ned would possibly escape death when Sansa begs for his life. This episode is also the last appearance of Aryas fighting instructor, Syrio Forel, as we get one final quiz on what we say to the god of death. There is also some really good banter between Bronn and Tyrion on the way back from the Vale, where Tyrion tells Bronn that whatever anybody pays him to sell Tyrion out, hell beat it, because he likes living.
