Ranking All 50 Game Of Thrones Episodes From Worst To Best

3. Baelor (Season 1, Episode 9)

This was the episode where viewers who hadn€™t read the books realized that this was more than a run-of-the-mill medieval fantasy series. When Ned Stark lost his head at the very end of the episode, everybody else lost their damn minds. Could they really have killed the main character of the show even before the season finale of the very first season? Thrones fans know by now that no character is safe, but at the time, nobody (who hadn€™t read the books) saw poor Ned€™s demise coming. This episode also included a great monologue by Tyrion as he described the first love of his life, Tysha. Unfortunately, it hasn€™t come up again as it did in the books, but at the time, it really humanized a character who at the time was strictly used as comic relief.
