A man and his father are stranded in the desert after their car breaks down and experience a dream like sequence of ghosts of ancient aquatic life that used to inhabit the area millions of years ago. Sadly, Fish Night isn't a particularly well structured short. The dialogue is clunky and the art style is woefully unappealing.

Despite the ghost fish providing an interesting colour palette for the visuals, the animation is a form of cel shading that ends up making the characters look and move in an ugly way. With half the short spent with just the father and son, that's far too long to look at ugly characters with poor dialogue.

The ending comes rather swiftly without explanation and the whole thing feels unfocused as a result. The design of the fish is well done and the aforementioned colours are vibrant and pop on the screen, but that is the only thing of worth in this short.
