10 Greatest Punisher Moments From Daredevil: Season 2
7. Bowling A Strike
Wilson Fisk is akin to The Punisher in terms of being just another man who bleeds and breathes the same as everyone else, yet it his unrelenting resolve and complete lack of mercy morphs him into something much more. There are not many men that have the gumption to stand up to Wilson Fisk, save for a blind lawyer, but Frank Castle isn't like many men.
Betrayed by Fisk and forced in a gladiatorial battle with eight other inmates, Frank is then shackled by the crooked guards and at Fisk's mercy.Still, Castle shows no signs of intimidation. In another subtle act by Benthal, Frank gives a feint glance at his shackles and then starts brawling with Fisk. He does pretty well, too, considering he's chained up and taking on a Vincent D'Onofrio who looks like he ate Vincent D'Onofrio.
Fisk initially wanted Castle dead but he actually facilitates his escape, referencing his 'gift for violence' as inspiration. Truthfully, he wants Frank loose cause he'll wipe out his competition on the outside but there's a distinct stench of respect by Fisk.
All Frank can smell is the scent of a man that he knows, deep down, he'll be gunning for eventually.
