Ranking The Big Bads From Buffy The Vampire Slayer

4. Glory

Buffy The Vampire Slayer The Master
Mutant Enemy

The materialistic and vain god from a Hell dimension, Glorificus, aka Glory, was a shot of villainous adrenaline that the show needed after Adam. Glory comes to Sunnydale in search of her 'key' that will allow her to travel back to her dimension - which will also cause the apocalypse, naturally - but unfortunately for her, the key has manifested itself as Buffy's little sister Dawn.

Dawn has no memory of being Glory's key and Glory has no knowledge that her key is now a teenage girl. Glory is a complete scene-stealer as she struts around the town knowing she's unbeatable yet frustrated she can't find what is hers.

Her narcissistic streak brought back a string of clever one-liners that early Buffy villains were known for. Glory knew how great she was, and that made her all the more entertaining. Her clashes with Buffy were engaging as the Slayer struggled to best her most physically powerful foe, and Glory's self-love made her amusing as well as just evil.

Glory also had the added layer of having to share a mortal body with the innocent Ben, and one of the most memorable scenes of the fifth season saw Glory and Ben constantly shifting forms as they argued over how to handle Dawn. It was equal parts insane and hilarious, which sums up Glory pretty well.
