6. Danny John-Jules - The Cat
The Cat was truly an iconic character for British television throughout the '90s, and still is to some degree now. This of course couldn't have happened without the incredible Danny John-Jules behind the makeup.
After Red Dwarf's initial run ended in 1999, Jules went on to star in the education children's program The Story Makers between 2002 and 2004. He also had appearances in films such as Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, and Blade II.
More recently, the ever charming feline actor has had a major role in Death in Paradise, playing Officer Dwayne Myers between 2011 and 2018. He also voiced Curtis in the children's show Bob The Builder from 2015 to 2018.
Since then, The Cat hasn't been particularly busy in the film and TV world. He's had odd jobs here and there and you might see him crop up in something you know from time to time, but other than Red Dwarf Danny John-Jules hasn't done anything hugely high profile.
