Red Dwarf Cast: Where Are They Now?

5. Robert Llewellyn - Kryten

The Robotic character Kryten made his first appearance in series two as a one-off with actor David Ross. Come season three, Kryten became a series regular with his new, and continuing actor, Robert Llewellyn. Since then, Llewellyn has been the memorable square face of the robotic friend on the Red Dwarf ship.

During Red Dwarf's run, and since, Llewellyn authored 14 books, ranging from fiction, to non-fiction, to memoirs, and even his own autobiography. He also presents a few video podcasts including Carpool and Fully Charged.

In terms of film and television, the Welsh comedian has done very little aside from Red Dwarf. Robert focuses a lot on his writing as well as his online podcasts. He did, however, present the game show Scrapheap Challenge for ten seasons.

It seems that Robert Llewellyn's passion isn't in portraying characters on the screen, rather he enjoys his own personal projects more. With Red Dwarf being an exception, we can't expect to see Llewellyn making us laugh on screen much. Perhaps Red Dwarf will keep going forever.
