Sometimes we forget that Morty is just a teenager. The next time you watch the show pay close attention to Mortys room, it will definitely remind you of your room now or when you were younger.

We see that he has posters on his wall, statues of different things, and even a banner saying science. We can see that Morty has an interest in girls, he likes action figures or models, and has a love for science just like Rick.

When we were teenagers our rooms were always a window into what made us unique and the things we enjoyed. So of course the writers would put that level of care to show us that Morty is still in fact just a fourteen year old boy.
