4. Gave Ethan A Fate Worse Than Death
If there is one family you don't want to mess with, it's the Smiths. While Rick may be the most dangerous of them all, they've each got a mean streak and can get nasty if you cross them - except for Jerry, of course. This much can be proven in "The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy".
During this episode, there's a subplot about Summer and her boyfriend, Ethan. After Ethan dumps her just before they are about to set off for a romantic picnic, Summer becomes distraught and tries to use one of Grandpa Rick's machines to enhance herself. But, she accidentally turns into a giant and even gets her skin turned inside out after Beth tries to help.
It's safe to say that her body image was messed with, literally and figuratively, so Morty came to exact revenge on her ex. He does this in a surprisingly intimidating scene where he makes s'mores with Ethan and threatens him with the same machine Summer used.
The post-credits scene reveals that Morty's bark was worse than his bite, as he turned Ethan into a diabolical monster. Although he did hurt his sister, this punishment feels disproportionate to Ethan's crime. Whoever dates Summer next better treat her right or face Morty's wrath.
