Rick And Morty: Every Season Four Episode Ranked Worst To Best

8. Rattlestar Ricklactica

Rick And Morty
Adult Swim

Remember when Rick swore that he would never stoop so low as a time travel story, both before and after dabbling in time travel in Rattlestar Ricklactica? Clearly, the episode was supposed to show that time travel makes for a poor story, and back up the writers' reluctance to use the sci-fi tool. Unfortunately, they were right, and it made for a poor story.

This wasn't helped by the show channeling its inner Family Guy, including two separate extended scenes depicting the society of snakes. Neither of these were funny at the beginning, and they certainly weren't funny after a combined three minutes of parseltongue later.

If Rattlestar Ricklactica and Claw and Hoarder have taught us anything, it's that while Jerry may be a great character, giving him a solo story isn't the best idea. Every time we cut to Morty's father in this episode, it was just depressing. A better story than the talking cat, but that's not saying much.
