Riverdale: Ranking All The Main Characters From Worst To Best

13. Hermione Lodge

Riverdale Cheryl Blossom Fire
The CW

Back in the show's first season, Hermione seemed poised to be one of Riverdale's most intriguing leading ladies, but as time has worn on she has become a one-dimensional shell of her former self.

The problem, simply put, is not Hermione herself, but her husband Hiram. Before Hiram came to town, Hermione was a vibrant, interesting character, with a personality, likability and flaws. But with her mobster hubby back in the picture, all of her characterisation seemed to fall out the window, making way for a boring, unfortunately pointless presence on the show.

Again, actress Marisol Nichols seems somewhat interested in what's taking place, but the writers don't give her any room to breathe, making her switch between mother and criminal with little to no motivation or necessity. She has her moments, particularly when it comes to her relationship with Veronica, where she seems ready to be something bigger and better, but these moments are far too inconsistent and short-lived to mean anything.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
