Riverdale: Ranking All The Main Characters From Worst To Best
9. Alice Cooper
The mother of Betty, Alice Cooper is not a famous rockstar, but Riverdale's most committed and complex journalist. Alice is a character made up of many different parts, moving between being a loving mother, elusive lurker and moral reporter with each passing episode - depending on what the narrative needs her to do in that moment.
She is, more often than not, a very interesting character, shown over the course of the show to be intelligent, independent, and brave. But with this mesh of personality traits and a constantly remixing of her role in the stories, she is also quite inconsistent, switching between roles with literally no warning or adequate build-up.
Honestly, at this point she's more of a plot device than an actual character, rarely developing or given anything resembling a consistent storyline. When she gets her moment, Alice has proven to be one of the show's best characters, but this never lasts as long as it should.
