Riverdale: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best
11. Mary Andrews
For being one of the show's less regular characters, Mary Andrews is surprisingly well-developed. An attorney with a passion for doing right by those who were wronged, she left town when her son was young because she always wanted to break free of Riverdale - a plot thread that regularly comes back up when she explains how she longed to take her son away too.
Mary is regularly relied upon whenever the writers find a new way to focus on Archie because she always adds a new perspective to the show. More than that, she's both a reliable and authentic source of conflict because it's totally understandable that a loving mother would attempt to prevent her son from making some of those ludicrous ideas a reality.
With Luke Perry's untimely passing, it appears that the show will be relying on Mary more often going forward. The character already has a solid foundation and has certainly benefited from the less-is-more approach, but now that she's sticking around, let's just hope that the show's bizarre storylines don't dilute her as well.
