Riverdale: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

2. Fred Andrews

If there was one character on Riverdale that remained grounded throughout all of the larger-than-life, campy and sheer ridiculous storylines, it was, without a doubt, Fred Andrews.

Archie Andrews' compassionate, caring and lovable father remained at the heart of the show throughout its first three seasons, showing nothing but constant support for his son as he attempted to make a better life for him. Though he struggled with issues of his own, due to his short-lived relationship with Hermione Lodge and the subsequent problems maintaining his construction company, Fred never wavered in anything and everything that he did.

On a show as glossy (not to mention off-the-wall) as Riverdale, it's rare to find a character so real, so authentic. But that's what Fred was. A loving father through and through, his scenes with Archie were among the best that the show has ever produced and always managed to ground even the most outlandish of storylines.

Luke Perry's untimely passing was nothing short of heartbreaking, but we'll always be grateful to him for entertaining so many people for so many years - three of which he spent bringing this wonderful character to life.

Rest well, Luke.
