Riverdale Season 3: 4 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Big Fun'

Ups...

4. Cole Sprouse's Singing

Oh Cole Sprouse, where have you been hiding that voice?

The sight of Jughead Jones belting out the lyrics of "Seventeen" with Betty Cooper is one that we all never knew we needed, but once it happened, we just couldn't look away.

Though the musical talent of the cast has been well-documented over Riverdale's three seasons, Cole Sprouse had never really flexed his vocal chords. It was never a problem because, while Archie Andrews was a sweetheart on stage and Josie McCoy was a sultry queen, Jughead's inherent broodiness made it believable that he would never get in front of a microphone. As a result, nobody really batted an eye when he had a reduced role in last year's musical episode.

However, that all changed in 'Big Fun'. The writers knew that fans would be waiting to see what Sprouse had to offer in the vocal department and teased us the whole way throughout, giving Jughead quirky lines of dialogue within songs as they built up to the big moment. Then, when that moment came, he absolutely nailed it.

Powerfully belting out the song, he held his own against some of the show's most revered singers, (including Lili Reinhart and Madelaine Petsch) and put us all on notice: Jughead Jones can sing!
